4 migrants convicted of skinning a man’s penis with a knife in Denmark

4 people have been sentenced to several years in prison for holding down and roughly assaulting a 44-year-old man in Danish Tinglev. Among other things, they flayed the skin of his penis with a sharp knife, Swedish newspaper Expressen reports.

The attackers were a 55-year-old man, his brother-in-law and daughter and son-in-law. They're also sentenced to expulsion.

The 4 of them were first convicted in the district court and last Friday also in the supreme court, where the penalty was increased for one of them.

The attack happened on 1 May 2017. The 44-year-old had started to socialise with the now convicted 55-year-old’s ex-wife. According to the sentence, the 55-year-old was motivated by jealousy when he decided that the 44-year-old should be punished and marked.

He asked his 25-year-old daughter and her 27-year-old husband to help him. In addition, his ex-wife’s brother, who lives in Germany, also participated. Together they sought him out and attacked him.

The man desperately tried to flee, but his attackers caught and held him down. They hit him several times in the head and on the body with a spade, knocked him over and held him still. Then the 27-year-old pulled out a sharp knife while the victim’s pants were pulled down.

The 27-year-old cut the skin around the root of the man’s penis "so that the skin came loose and slipped up and the shaft was exposed", the indictment stated according to the newspaper Jydske Vestkysten.

The assault was cruel and brutal, states the supreme court and the intention of the deed wasn't only to harm the 44-year-old physically.

"The deed was carried out by several people and had been preceded by planning. The plaintiff suffered significant physical as well as psychological damage through the exceptionally humiliating and abusive treatment."

The court "added special importance" to that when they were judging the involved. The 55-year-old and his 27-year-old son in law received 3 years in prison each and both men will be expelled from Denmark for life.

The woman’s brother, who was sentenced by the supreme court to 2 years’ imprisonment and expulsion to Germany, appealed his sentence but later withdrew the appeal.

The 25-year-old daughter received 2 years in prison. She'll also be expelled from Denmark for 12 years.
