Doctors in shock as man starts shooting at patient inside Dutch hospital

Personnel of a hospital in the Netherlands are shocked about a shooting that took place inside the emergency department, a local newspaper reports.

Late Friday night a patient with a gunshot wound had to be brought to the emergency room of the hospital in Zaandam.

The man was shot in the city’s centre, but when arriving at the hospital a man opened fire on him again.

Video footage obtained by newspaper De Telegraaf shows the man continued to shoot him inside the hospital.

Jolanda van de Walle, spokeswoman for the hospital says the hospital’s personnel were very shocked about the "things they’ve seen or heard".

"I didn't witness it, as I wasn’t there, but I’ve heard they dealt with it well. It had a lot of impact," Van de Walle adds.

Dutch police are now searching for 2 men: The 32-year-old Giovanni Holwijn and his younger brother Gilano, 24.

Police announced that they offer a reward of 15,000 euros for tips that lead to the men’s capture.
