In an Austrian talk show German top author Thilo Sarrazin discussed his new best selling book "Hostile takeover: how Islam hinders progress and threatens society". Sarrazin's a guest together with an Austrian teacher and a suspected Salafist preacher.
The author's worried as Muslims don’t seem to accept our liberal values and therefore don’t integrate well.
"Ultimately, it's clear that Muslims, due to the influence of Islam, as a whole don't integrate very well and for the most part, don't accept our liberal values.
"Simultaneously, because of, in particular, the role of women for them. These women have significantly more kids compared to others and as a result their numbers and proportion increase," Sarrazin says.
He sees that Muslims perform worse and stand far from our western society, while growing towards a minority in just a few generations.
"At the same time, we can see by all indicators of integration, criminality, education, labour market participation, radical attitudes show a poor performance by Muslims when compared to other migration groups.
"They stand, as a whole, at a considerable distance from our society, that's growing. In order to see in which direction this develops in the future, we need only to look at the development in the Islamic world in general.
"Unfortunately, one will find that in the entirety of Islamic history and in the entire Islamic present, there's not one single country where the Muslims have the majority that other groups can live in freedom and are valued as equals."
His conclusion's that Islam isn't compatible with our freedoms.
"This leads me to say, until I have proof of the contrary, Islam's incompatible with political and religious freedom. This is very dangerous, if we consider that Muslims will be the majority within the next 2 to 3 generations."
