Calls for Macron to resign increase as he deploys riot police to use tear gas on and begins the arrest of Yellow Vest protesters.
514 protesters have already been arrested as riot police now using tear gas on protesters in a locked down Paris.
Police have also seized protective equipment from journalists and have stopped yellow vest protesters boarding trains to Paris in an attempt to quell the situation in Paris, reports AP.
As the largest number of protesters yet protest the government in France, Macron makes the claim that the ‘yellow vest’ movement will be hijacked by "radicalised and rebellious" crowds.
"Things are heating up on the #ChampsElysées. Tear gas now regularly deployed by police against #GiletsJaunes protesters in #Paris"
Speaking from the Arc de Triomphe, Sky News’ Mark Stone says this weekends’ protests has far greater numbers with police appearing to be "kettling" protesters.
Whilst the majority of the protesters are peaceful, there's seen some pushing and shoving in the capital with stun grenades being set off: "A lot of demonstrators have told me they're peaceful and don't want trouble," he adds, "This is one hell of a test for President Macron, who's trying to bring in unpopular reforms."
The French ministry claims they're trying to maintain order.
